Dort Online Banking Newsletter - January 2007
Hi,
Welcome to the second installment of the monthly Dort Online Banking Newsletter. If someone has forwarded this email to you, and you want to start getting your very own copy, please signup here .
This month's topics:
Enhanced Login Security
Sometime in late January/early February we will be updating the Dort Online Banking login. After the update, when you login we will not only verify who you are by your Member Number and Password, but also by the computer you are using. To get this extra security, you will follow a simple, one-time procedure and set-up two security questions and answers. You will be asked the security questions if you login from a public computer or one you haven't used before.
Enhanced Login Security will:
- Defend against identity theft and fraud.
- Provide security from any computer, wherever you are.
- Make it easy for you to bank online anytime, anywhere.
AlertMe
AlertMe is a consumer credit monitoring service we just started offering that helps stop credit fraud and identity theft. The service also provides insurance coverage to help defray costs associated with identity theft. Once you've signed up and paid for the service (it's $4.25/month) AlertMe will take a look at your credit report daily and send you an email when the report changes significantly. This is a good, inexpensive way to keep ahead of identity theives.

Online Banking Myths (Courtesy of Digital Defense Incorporated)
"Franklin D.Roosevelt stated, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Of course, FDR did not have to worry about Internet Banking. For many users of online banking, accessing their account information via the Internet is a daily occurrence, performed in a secure manner. The convenience of 24/7/365 accessibility to their financial information overshadows any fear that their information could be compromised. These users come from a diverse background, but for the most part, they make use of the Internet on a frequent, sometimes even daily, basis."
